A Spanish doctor has been ordered to pay for the upkeep of a child after a failed abortionoperation meant the boy’s mother was obliged to see her pregnancy through to the end.
In a unique case, a court in Palma de Mallorca ordered the unnamed doctor to pay almost €1,000 (£800) a month in maintenance for the child until he reaches his 25th birthday.
read title, thought ‘what the fuck!?!?!’
read article - ‘Oh, ok, he told her the abortion had worked even though it didn’t. More reasonable’
However, till the child is 25? You only get child support from the father/government til the kid is 16…….?
This ruling will only serve to discourage doctors from performing abortions due to fear
of being sued
I shouldn’t hope so. Having read the article it sounds like he didn’t really pay attention to the second scan which should have shown that the abortion had failed, or assumed the abortion would have worked so didn’t look that hard. hopefully it should just remind some to check and double check.
And in my 3rd and final attempt, for the time being, to cheer up the internet, I present you with Travis Pastrana doing a back flip over Ken Block over a fire pit.
in my 2nd attempt to cheer up the internet, here is a cool guy, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, not looking at an explosion.
had a really shit observation today from my university tutor which included me crying in front of her and then her ripping me to pieces for twenty minutes. She said the main problem with my lesson was that I took too much of a risk for an observed lesson. I chose to do a lesson that I would normally do with that class because I knew they would enjoy it, I was not about to change the way I teach to tick boxes on an observation form. To me it just seems wrong that I should make my lessons less interesting to tick some boxes.
Also, I hardly appreciate her cutting her nails whilst watching my lesson, hardly professional.
Punch her in the ovaries!!! This is the sort of thing I see as being wrong with the educational system.
*lots of hugs*
